My dog, Sky, loves to play fetch with a horse sized jolly ball. It's her favorite thing in the world. So tonight when I took her out to the barn with me, I decided I would kick around the jolly boll a bit for her.

Well Tala, our horse, was in the arena with us, just wandering around exploring. Having some down time after wearing a bit and bridle for the first time ever. (She did awesome!)

I booted the jolly ball and it made a loud hollow THUMP sound. So Tala who was feeling her oats a bit starting sprinting to the other side of the arena and "hid" behind a temporary round pen they erect during winter (smallish roundpen make out of large white plastic round pen panels).

Sky brought the ball back to me so I kicked the ball again. Sky took off after the ball and started barking and growling at the ball as she chased it- another one of those things she does when she is feeling good.

Tala came out from behind the round pen at full speed and raced towards the jolly ball. Sky snatched it before she could reach it and raced towards me. By this time, Tala had curved towards and around me and was headed back into hiding behind the roundpen.

So each time I kicked the ball they would race for the ball, come see me and then wait for me to kick it again. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen!

Tala wasn't feeling as spunky the other day so it's not as hilarious but I think you'll get the idea :D

That is funny!! My horse likes to have snow balls thrown at her, she thinks that is much fun.

LOL that is so funny! Sky is a bit intimidated by the horse still and usually runs away from Tala but in a way that it seems like she is saying "I'm not running from you, I just wanted to go over here and quickly!" LOL it's so funny!

Last night I could see Tala stretching her head to see over the clunky white round pen, just waiting for me to kick that ball. She wanted to surprise Sky. It was so hillarious. I really wish I could have video taped it. I will see if they will do it again some other night. You all would just laugh yourself silly! :D

Too cute! I love it when they all get along and enjoy playing like that! Some dogs and horses don't get along. You've got some good mojo going, and I'm so glad. Our horse and dog play, but not like that, though I wish they would. Tala and Sky's way sounds way cuter! Maybe Tala can teach Q how it should work. Smack forehead. My horse just prefers to chase the dog, not the object thrown. No bites or kicks, just licks and sniffs. Good way to tire out the dog.

We make a difference.
