My first egg order has arrived, after I posted an ad for my organic eggs on Craigslist for $3 a dozen !! My hens will be able to pay for their feed!!

A lady in a town 20 miles away saw my ad and is coming to buy 2 dozen eggs on Tuesday! And I got lots of inquiries from others wanting to put in standing orders for eggs (I think they resell). So, if you are strapped for cash for chicken feed, try listing your eggs, too. I honestly didn't think anyone would answer, and by golly, they really did!! I think this is all fascinating, I really do and it makes me very happy!

Wow Melanie, good for you getting $3.50 a doz. That's still a fair price, since organic in the store is about $4.50. Can I tell you all another tiny story?? Again, in Craigs list, a lady is closing out all her chicken feed at her feed store for some reason, and it is ORGANIC. She wants to trade for eggs, and then sell me the rest for cheep (couldn't resist), like 20# for $8.00. Now if that isn't the deal of the century, I don't know what is. Again, I highly recommend craigslist to just scan and see what you can find. You just never know...........

Good for you, Virginia. Isn't that great? When I had lots of eggs I always had someone to buy them. It's nice to have extra money to buy more feed. And organic ain't cheap.

Oh my gosh, Melanie! That is too funny! In your car?!? Did it lay an egg for you in there?

Virginia- glad you are getting some egg orders! I have a lady that brings me eggs each week and I love it! It's so great to wake up, bring in the eggs and make breakfast. Now if only I can find someone to drop off milk each week! LOL

i get $3.50/dz and my hens aren't organic.....they are free range though....sometimes too free range. I found one in my car once when I left my door open too long!

That's a good idea!

I post messages around the workplace and have a standing clientelle, but it gets frustrating when hens decide to molt during the PEAK baking season.
