Just made some cookies for Boxer and my brother's dogs (Peyton and Toby). Boxer ate one, he has to wait for Santa Paws to fill his stocking on Christmas eve for the rest. They have natural ingredients, with molasses to add flavor. Here is the recipe if anyone is interested:
3 cups whole wheat flour, 1/4 cup wheat germ, dash sea salt, 1 1/2 sticks butter, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup molasses.
Mix th e first three ingredients, then cut in butter till dough resembles course crumbs ( I ended up just using my hands). Add eggs and molasses, mix (again, I used a spoon at first but ended up using my hands to finish it). Form dough into a ball. You may wish to refridgerate for twenty minutes or so. Heat oven to 350 degrees and form small balls of dough (use greased cookie sheet). Bake about twenty five minutes or so. You can vary this recipe to suit your needs. I didn't have wheat germ so I used a mix of corn meal, flax seeds, and bee pollen. These cookies seem to keep pretty well, too.
Bone appetite!

Thanks, Cindy. I'm almost out of the last batch I made for my dogs. I'll have to try this next.
