We found out this morning our yellow lab Clay has cancer of the tongue, thankfully it is localized and surgery is an option but I am reeling from the shock of the cost. $3,000.00 and we don't have it to spend. Anyone had an experience with this kind of cancer in dogs? Please pray for my precious Clay.

Start researching wholistic cancer practices.

I have read where cancer feeds on carbohydrates and some dogs with certain kinds of cancers have been fed an all meat diet with success.

Might want to research this further and possibly change your dog's diet to slow the cancer's growth.

Jonni Our vet recommended taking him to the Washington State University Vet school, which we did and they don't have payment plans. We are scratching up some funds from here and there, it's just been a tough year on the finances. However the outlook is good with surgery as it is localized and he is young, 5 years old.

Oh, poor Clay! Not in dogs, Kathy, but in cats--my grandmother's. It depends on the cancer. With Matilda, it came very quickly and was very agressive, and unfortunately at her age (17), treatment would have been very harmful.

I know that there are amazing things that happen now--your doc might be able to offer a payment plan.
