Last night I rode a Tennesse Walking horse for the first time. I was warned that he isn't the best at the running walk, but it certainly was a great experience.

Any way "He's Breaking Out" or HBO for short is a school horse and he knows it. He has an internal timer and doesn't really like to work all that hard. So Deb, the ranch manager wanted to put an adult on him that would make him work a bit.

I got to ride for I don't know- over an hour I am sure. It was so great! I haven't been able to ride for about 5 years, but this month I have gotten to ride twice!

As I was coming in, Deb who is also a riding instructor said I have a really good seat! I am so pleased with that compliment because having a good seat is so key to being able to ride well!

Hey, that's really cool.

I'm jealous.

Haven't been riding in years.

For me it's a Tennessee Walker or nothing!

What a nice compliment--I took riding lessons for a while many years ago but didn't stick with it ling enough to develop a good seat. Now you have me wanting to ride again--you're so blessed to have good horses to ride. Enjoy!

Marly- you should come up and visit! We would get you cured of worrying about horse bites! I don't allow Tala to get nippy or lippy. If she starts to nibble she gets my index and middle finger poked into the skin behind her mouth. It doesn't hurt them but it is enough of a shock that they realize that they are not allowed to do any sort of mouthing. She is very good about it. *hugs*

PS I put some more pictures on the Tala blog today!

I'd love to beable to have access to a horse. Well, I do, one of my sisters is married to a cowboy that had horses. However, he, in my humble opinion, is NOT too good or nice to animals. I know I'd be shaking all over the place if I did try to ride a horse. The horse would have to be super old, and move slowly, so as not to beable to turn its head and bite me. LOL

Actually I wasn't sore at all! I was amazed! I rode using a special saddle designed for gaited horses and while I can tell I used muscles they aren't sore! I really liked how the horse moved.

It's so nice to read your postings about riding again. I bet you were a bit sore after riding so long! LOL

I am so jealous! I rode all during my childhood. I rode just western style but how I enjoyed it. I would have like to learn or have the opportunity to ride different types like English etc.

Did you get that job you wanted? I have been working about 50 hour weeks right now and hope to shorten the hours in the near future.

Jenna is getting married on August 1st. Just a little affair then Derek my son is coming up on August 13th. Hope to see you sometime soon.

Great compliment, Alee! Good for you. I know you must be having the best time ever. I am so happy for you, girl! And only your second time in 5 years? I guess it's just like riding a bike, huh?
