I have two chickens who have been busy sitting on eggs and raising babies. I have two others that wanted nothing to do with them so we moved them into a seperate run area right next to where the others are. I have been wanting to free range them for a while and though since these two were seperate anyways this would be a good group to start with. The last two nights we have let them out late in the evening to give them a taste of freedom. Both nights they have come back to there roost just as it starts to get dark! I am going to increase there time by an hour or so every few days to get them used to the yard and our other critters. they really seem to enjoy!

Usually chickens WILL go inside to roost. Sounds like a good plan. I can't free range mine because of my garden..and my neighbors even more...she would have a fit. So they have a big covered run.
