Posted - Jun 30 2009 : 7:22:35 PMI have two chickens who have been busy sitting on eggs and raising babies. I have two others that wanted nothing to do with them so we moved them into a seperate run area right next to where the others are. I have been wanting to free range them for a while and though since these two were seperate anyways this would be a good group to start with. The last two nights we have let them out late in the evening to give them a taste of freedom. Both nights they have come back to there roost just as it starts to get dark! I am going to increase there time by an hour or so every few days to get them used to the yard and our other critters. they really seem to enjoy!
Posted - Jun 30 2009 : 7:41:42 PMUsually chickens WILL go inside to roost. Sounds like a good plan. I can't free range mine because of my garden..and my neighbors even more...she would have a fit. So they have a big covered run.
