I had one of my friends come over today- she's been afraid of horses for years. I put her on our biggest horse because he's also the most gentle, and we had a great afternoon ride! Here's a picture of me on "Hank".

I had to show you because it's the first year I can ride regularly! My back has been really bad for years until I started walking 3-6 miles...it got better! ALl the physical therapy was worthless compared to a good old walk in the country!

Your horses are cute! I just finished my last batch of soap and thought I'd sit down with a bowl of stew and read your blog...glad I did. Woman after my own heart *U*

Oh, you sweet thing! I haven't updated my blog in ages... but today was the last day of school, and with all this freedom I'd best spend a wee bit of time on that. I have a pair of horses myself. Lots of work/fun!

Please do! The cooking one is just my missteps in the kitchen and pretty tame. The horse one is for adults, not vulgar but just not for kids. Actually, it's more the way I speak in real life...unless I'm in a situation where I have to use my manners and be respectful...hehehe...

Anywho, please check them out!

Sounds like you have a gorgeous place to ride! I have enough space to ride all day and then some here too. I totally relate to your back story. Mine was from a job, then two car accidents in the same amount of years. Lots of pain, and my neck and shoulders will never be the same either. But I'm back to milking the goats daily, riding, and doing whatever I want. Seriously it was the walking. Riding is hard on my back, but I love and do it anyway.

I have to find some time to check out your blogs, they look funny!

C'mon, load up and come ride with me!! My horse pens border on a 1000 acre pasture!

Speaking of fixing your back...years ago I was in a horrible car accident and couldn't ride or do anything for two years...so the doctors said. One day I went to 3 different doctors, if you can believe. Finally, me being a cowgirl who gets fed up with stoopid, I said forget the doctors, I'd heal myself. I went out and started riding again. I still have a lot of damage in my neck and left shoulder that will never go away but life is too short and I want to live, not just exist to breathe.

So, been there, done that, have that T-shirt. You're doing the right thing! Also, some doctor told me years later that riding actually does a back good due to the movement and also a lot of back 'patients' choose gaited horses to keep riding.

Attagirl!!

They say both are good. I started out slowly, and worked my way up. I walk pretty fast now. *U*

Beautiful shot Dalyn! Good to know about the walking! I need to start doing that! Did you do fast walk or just "enjoy your time" type of pace?

How beautiful Dalyn! Thanks so much for sharing :) I haven't been on a horse since I was 7, a long time ago :) Hopefully soon I will give it a try! Isn't it amazing what a walk can do for you? I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better :)
