Posted - Jun 03 2009 : 5:42:53 PM I am so excited! I have wanted Royal Palm turkeys for three years now, and finally got hold of three chicks today. They were about 99% sure these were the Royal Palms...but it was a shipment of rare breeds and they just maybe could be another rare breed. Do these look like Royal Palm chicks to any of you?

Posted - Jun 08 2009 : 1:43:47 PM YAY you!
Heritage breeds are wonderful to have. And yes, they should breed. I know even though we have several sets of parents here at the hatchery, the offspring still gets jiggy. I'm getting into Narragansetts and Bourbon reds... I'm making the room in the barn as we speak...

Posted - Jun 06 2009 : 10:31:13 AM Well, whn you get them from a hatechery the chances aren't very likely that they are from the same parents...They collect the eggs from lots of hens and incubate them as needed. Rare ones, obviouly present a bigger chance, but still, they can breed.

Posted - Jun 06 2009 : 08:54:57 AM Yes mam. I am soooo jealous. I have been looking for those for months. Congrats on your poults. They are alot more cuddly than chicks. I am sure you will love them.
