Yes, that is a kissy face. I got my dog when she had three days to live, I know what you mean. Your dog, like mine, has "won the doggie lotto," as my mama used to say

Jasper is mine. He had less than ten days to live when we got him from the pound. He is the best dog ever! He smells flowers, like Ferdinand the bull. We had to kennel him two weekends ago, because we had to go to Seattle. The kennel lady said he is one of the best dogs she ever had there! I am a proud mama.
