I have a 10 year old newfoundland that had just started having runny goopy eyes and I really don't know why or what to do with her. Any ideas?

Up date the Terrimycin and washing helped but She Is full of infection and is at the vets with IV and antibotics. They are going to do surgery today as well she is going to be spayed .

I really miss my big baby she has been at the vets for a couple days.

Yes it is terrimycin and I would do it 2 or 3 times a day for a few days and then if it doesn't clear up call the vet. But it is an antibiotic so it should clear it up. Let us know how it works...

You'll have to read the package directions for that.

It might be 1 or 2 a day.

Our feed store sells these too.

There won't be much to remove as its a salve and will absorb into the eye.

You may have to wipe excess off your dog if he gets squirmy though.

Still, you might want to call the vet anyway more for peace of mind than anything.

I will get some today. How often do I wash out and apply the ointment?

Thanks you guys.

My cat's eyes weep especially when the wind blows all day.

The eye meds are Terramyacin I think.

My dog is prone to getting hairs in her eyes- Her eyes will water and gunk up. There also could be in infection that might need veterinary care. You could try the over the counter ointment and if that doesn't clear it up, take him/her to the vet after says 3-4 days. Does your pet seem like it is in pain?

She may have just gotten something in her eyes. I would try some eye ointment that you can get over the counter just for dogs. Some pet stores carry it. It is in a tube and then in a box and it does cost about 12-14 dollars but it does work good. I have a newfie too. Hope it is feeling better real soon. also keep them clean with some nice warm washcloths. I will look my ointment up and get the name of it for you...
