Today is the day I will have to put my Sasha down. We have been nursing arthritis for awhile now and always said when she can't get up on her own it would be time. Well that is today. I take solice in the fact that we rescued her from a puppy mill breeding program and gave her a new start. We new when we brought her home 2 yrs ago our time with her would be limited because of her age (9yrs) but it doesn't make the heart break any less. She came to us with an infected gash in her neck (from being on a chain),upper resp infection, heartworms, and scared of anything and everything but she leaves us healed, socialized, and very loved. She will be missed dearly and she knows she healed me just as I healed her. I am sorry girls I can't type anymore.

Thank you so much for all your hugs. It means the world to me to have this support system here.

This week has been quite trying. Sunday I was bit by a black widow and I have been in the hospital until last night. So I am sorry for the delay in my thank yous and I probably won't be on here for awhile until I am feeling better.

Thank you everyone!
HUGS

My heart breaks for you Christina

Sasha was so very lucky to have such a kind soul take her and in turn your heart was filled with the love she gave to you. It is never hard to have to be the one to say when it is time but just know she believed in you and knew that it was her time. I am sending all my love to you and your blessed Sasha - I know where you are standing today - I still cry everytime I think of the sweet dogs who have blessed my life and are no longer on the planet.

Just know you where loved by a special four legged angel

Oh, my thoughts and prayers and hugs are with you.

We had to have my Zena put to sleep a little over a month ago. Sounds like the exact same thing. We had been battling arthritis also, and finally got to the point where she couldn't get up or walk on her own. She was a rescue dog from an animal shelter, who had been in and out of some questionable homes. We also rescued her when she was 9 years old.

So, I can definitely empathize. I will keep you and Sasha in my thoughts and prayers. It is a hard thing to do, but it is so brave and good of you to do what is right and best for Sasha.

If you need to talk more, please feel free to contact me at my e-mail.

Christina: Great big hug to you. Amazing how our hearts just mesh up with our animal friends. It's like no other relationship we have because it's so unconditional and dependent on us to be responsible, loving and kind. You are being those things but it is sad to lose a friend.

Christina, I can hardly type because of my tears, but I'm going to tell you that I had to make the very difficult decision for my own Lily, 4 years ago and it was the hardest, best thing I could do for her. You've loved your girl more than anyone could, and making this decision is an extension of that love. You won't see it for a while and I wish I could make it better...please remember she will always be with you, she has just changed form and will be romping through our heavens, whole again.

Christina, waht a beautiful story. And such a great dog. I know she has had a wonderful 2 years with you and was well loved and cared for. What more could a dog want? I will be thinking of you during this heartbreaking time. Just know that she was an angel in dog fur.
