Thanks for the info. on where to find the show halter. Like farmgirl bling for the horse! When he/she goes to the show, of course.

I bought mine at www.sstack.com We only use it in the show ring because it is very delicate and too pretty to use everyday.

Michelle- That is a show halter. Most equine stores online have them.

Thanks so much farmgirls! You are right Alee, it is never too late to have horses! I started when I was 32. Whisper was my first horse and he was just 4mths. He is now 8 and I take him riding everywhere. We have even gone to the beach and went in the water together. It was really fun. It kinda of just exploded from there and now we have 13 and I just bred my mare Alicia to a Friesian. She will be the only one this year. I bred her because she is getting older and if not kept pregnant I might not get anymore babies from her. The babies are the best. I look forward to them every year.

Cheers!
Jennifer

Oh Jennifer..they are just so pretty! Makes me miss my old gelding, Mick. He wasn't nearly as lovely as your arabians but he was a good old guy. I love horses. Right now..I am not set up for or have space for one..that space is taken up with Mona, my beloved milk cow, and my little fiber critters (2 Icelandic ewes and an angora goat) but someday I hope to have a horse again. Thanks for posting the beautiful pics!

Jennifer, your horses are so beautiful! And to have the privilege & responsibility to breed & raise them is awesome!

I wish I had grown up around horses. Now that we have acreage, it would be the perfect place for them...

Kristin,
Where the white markings are the skin underneath is pink. Where there is the dark color the underlying skin color is black. Markings on horses are like fingerprints on people. Not any are ever the same.

Kristin- It's just genetics. White horses can have white markings- we just can't see them Okay, bad horse joke, Sorry! Even though some of the grey horses actually look "white" when they are super clean you can still see the white markings.

We have a horse farm across the road. The guy has race horses. He has one gray mare that has dark babies and they turn gray as the get older. It's fun to watch them.

So why are they born with the white feet and spot on the forehead if they will turn gray? I need a horse lesson here.

Thank you! Yes the baby will be grey! It is really fun to watch them change colors as they get older.

That is a beautiful horse. Will the baby turn the same color? I love their heads.
