Does anyone know where I can buy pet supplies for my animals that don't have chemicals and crap in them. I just purchased a mat for under my puppy's water and feed bowl and of course it was made in China. After washing it, you would'nt believe the toxic smell of it. It will be going back to the store tomorrow. I am getting afraid to buy anything else made in China. Would really like to know my things are safe for pets and human alike. Any suggestions where to purchase safe products would be welcomed. Thanks

Look up planetdog.com

They sell the best all natural rubber dog toys, they themselves make AND can recycle. The toys are a bit pricy, but my pooch is worth every bit. We have so many, 5 of which glow in the dark.

Their rubber balls have 2 holes, so no tounges can be tragically sucked into the ball due to pressure from biting down.

I sent a post about this a few months ago regarding toys that have just 1 hole and a poor dog that died.

ANYWAY.....

I think the company is somewhere up north?

And the best part is, a small portion of their sales goes to help train and place companion animals for the disabled.

I don't buy any more plastic or rubber toys or chew-type ingestables made in china either.

And one last bit....you ladies might want to swich from rawhide to pork hides. The cow rawhide can swell in the throat and cause choking and possible impaction.

Pork hide stays small when swallowed, and is highly digestable .

I buy Beefeaters brand.

And for other all natural items you might want to jump on the mailing list for KV Vet. They specially ear mark remedies and treats that are especially all natural and have no synthetic chemical.

If anyone finds a place that sells non-China rawhide in bulk, please let me know... I'm not too thrilled about USA rawhide from stockyard, chemicalized cows, either - I've been mostly getting stuff that's from Columbia (cow ears) but my choices are limited to one kind.

What happens to rawhide from grass-fed and organic beef??? I need it! ;)

Hello Gail!

I make cat toys, beds, and blankets that I sell on Etsy. I can also make things for small dogs and other small animals and eventually will be expanding my store into those areas. I am also willing to barter or take orders through e-mail.

There are also many other sellers on Etsy that cater to pets. I would suggest trying to find what you are looking for there.

My store is at http://FelineFeathers.etsy.com

Hi Gail

Sorry to hear about what happen but I am not surprised - my first suggestion is go to Etsy and just type in what you are looking for and I know you will find tons of wonderful products for your four legged family members. There is treats, toys, food, feeding supplies, jewelry, clothing and the list goes on.. Trust me that is where I go if I do not make it myself.

Good luck and have fun.
