Oh, I have to tell you the cutest story. This morning my husband and I were in our livingroom having our coffee, and my husband just stops in the middle of a sentence. He is looking out the window, then he gets up and goes to the window. Our driveway has fencing down both sides, and then a gate across the drive at our house. Well, standing on the other side of the driveway gate is a small brown object. He husband say, "is that a baby deer?". Needless to say I was out the door. When I got to it, it wasn't a deer but a newborn baby Jersey calf. Our neighbor has a dairy farm down the road. We called him, he came and he said that it was about 5 hours old. We were all amazed at that little thing making it all the way to our house. OH, she was sooo cute. Just wanted to share. Blessings all around!

BE HAPPY!!!

Thanks ya'll for understanding how excited I was. The farmer would probably let me kept it if it was a little bull calf. But, he keeps ALL the little heifers. I understand. I am just excited we saw it and were able to help!

BE HAPPY!!!

Lucky for this little calf that your husband saw her and that you ran out to save it. They are just so sweet!
What a great way to start the day - an unexpected blessing.

What a sweet surprise. I love Jerseys. Maybe you could buy it later. Do you get milk from them? We had several dairies up the road from us but they have all sold out. We used to get raw milk from one of them. I was going to buy one from him but I went with goats instead. After reading about how much poop we'd get every day verses goat manure it wasn't too hard a choice for me.

I'm with Alee..that little thing would have been in my bed with me! I love those Jerseys--such beautiful eyes and the sweetest countenance. You are stronger folks than I....seriously, she would have been inside my house!
