Posted - Jan 01 2009 : 9:39:08 PM After a rough week with a stillborn and losing a weanling alpaca (when it rains it pours), we were blessed with a beautiful female cria on Christmas Eve Morn. I have some pictures of her on my blog on the post "Christmas Eve Gift". We named her Merry.
We also had a lovely guest post from a friend in Georgia who had a cria (baby alpaca) born on Christmas Day. Such joy these little ones bring!
Hope you all are having a Happy New Year so far.
Best Wishes, Katy

Posted - Jan 02 2009 : 07:44:40 AM Katy, I am so sorry to hear of your losses. How sad. Merry is just beautiful. And all the different colors that they are. It's amazing that no 2 look alike. Colt McCoy is such a gorgeous color.
I read the story about Tre and Beloved. You are a very good writer. Someone mentioned Beloved's story would make a great book for children and adults, too. I love it. It makes me want some Alpacas. They are so cute. And the fiber is wonderful, too.
You have definitely had your hands full on the farm. I bet the kids are a great help! They look like they really enjoy the animals there.
Hope this new year is a good one for you and your family. Kris
