I just got my Countryside magazine. There's an article on winter care for your chickens. Great mag, too. Lots of interesting articles there.

Story's Guide to Raising Chickens is another good, practical poultry book.

I like "How To Raise Chickens" by Christine Heinrichs. Lots of very good information and filled with full-color photos. You can see it at this link: http://www.amazon.com/How-Raise-Chickens-Everything-Raise/dp/0760328285/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1228795505&sr=1-1

Hi Kristin I also get "Mother Earth News".If you check amazon , often they have used for very little "dough". I get some good books at yard sales also.

I love anything country and homesteading. When I go to the used book store they have a sustainable living and homesteading section. I go there first. Even if it's from the '70s I get it.

I do get Hobby Farms magazine, Dairy Goat Journal, did get the BYPoultry, but let it run out. Countryside mag is good, too. And Acres USA, Back Home. All good. Farm and Ranch is, too.

I have an old chicken book called The Chicken Book. It's pretty helpful.
