Hi Farmgals,
We had a new baby born on the farm last weekend. He had some real challenges at first but is now looking great and appears very healthy.
My four darling farmkids and I all have come up with a possible name for him. Rather than me decide, I thought I would ask for input from you. I have put a poll on my blog www.alpacafarmgirl.com where you can vote.

I've never named a cria this way. Should be fun. Poll will close Sunday night. Thanks bunches!

Katy

The votes are in. Biscuit and Ice Cube tied for first place. I decided that since he almost froze, I'd call him Ice Cube. I can always name another one Biscuit, but I'm hoping not to have too many other Ice Cubes!

Thanks to all of you who commented and voted!
Best,
Katy

I'm so envious! I wanted an acreage large enough to start an alpaca farm. We couldn't find one that fit our housing needs... We decided to have chickens instead. They're so fun.

Thanks girls for your ideas and comments! We had a boy here once named "Nissan" which means miracle. The voting is fun for me to watch. As of this moment Biscuit is ahead but you can vote up until Sunday night so if you haven't voted, please do!

Lisamarie,I'm cracking up thinking he's smaller than your turkey!

Hi, Katy! Welcome to the farm!

I have to say that both my children about the same size at birth as that sweet little cria (dd was 9 lbs 12 oz and ds was 9 lbs 2 oz)! He was SOOO small! What a miracle that he's perked up.

I voted for Biscuit. He reminds me of one of the two Bichons we almost adopted from petfinder. They were Biscuit and Chowder, and they were rescued from a puppy mill in Kansas. Biscuit had a cute little curly fluff ball on top of his head that looked similar to your cria's.

Blessings to you, your family and your alpaca's, and Happy Thanksgiving!

How cute! He's smaller than our turkey this year! He looks like a biscuit but I voted for ice cube. Glad he's doing so well.

Well I am the odd ball again, I picked Chase. The reason is he chased life to be here and healthy, he has chased down a special place in your heart and he will always be chasing lifes riches and fair ladies.... I think "Chase" is the perfect name if I do say so. I have named hundreds of animals and about 30 something alpacas and it is not an easy task - good luck with your sweet guy and give Jeremy a hug from another person who would never let some sweet thing go without a big battle.

Sorry Katy my daughter came up with the name Bleeper. I liked this one more than your chooses. Our family always comes up with different names for the animal. We had a Akita Lab mix which they named Oslo.
