My sweet little Jakie died this morning. He was not feeling well for only a day and a half. Here is a pic I took yesterday and one in happier times. I miss him too much already and for some stupid reason I can't stop crying. Rats!!

Marybeth, I'm so sorry for your loss.

My little Rat Ter. are 11 1/2 year old sisters. I keep thinking they're gonna go anytime, but still going strong. I don't know what they'll do when one goes and the other ones left alone. Not looking forward to that at all.

MB,
You just might have to get a baby Bingo. Just when I think we got Bingo trained not to eat the furniture you start over with another puppy? Well I do feel sorry for Bingo, I know when they are used to to another pet being there they can feel pretty lost.

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. Now I have a problem with Bingo. He and Jake have been together almost since birth and Bingo is having a hard time. He is looking for Jake and doesn't understand. I try to keep him occupied . They were like two brothers and now one is gone. Ideas?? MB

Oh my Mary Beth - I cry right along side of you - nothing wrong with tears. It is so very hard to let go of our furry family members but I try and find the good times and put my heart on those wonderful days I spent with them. It also reminds us to give everyone both two and four legged hugs, snugs and playtime and tell them we love them each and every moment we can... I have hugging you from a distance but just know my heart is with you, tears and all.

big hugs and sincere thoughtfulness for you.
I know that a pet doggie can be family and we love them so much. I had a dog die who was getting old and actually hadn't been "mine" for many years...we needed to send him to family member and heard about how he was on regular basis. When my Dude died we got a nice doggie tombstone for the place he was buried in my inlaws yard. He was a member of the family for sure.
So sorry for your loss...and it's OK to cry....perfectly natural....let it out and cry...tears are appropriate....keep us up on how you are doing.

Oh MB,
This is not good! He was only not feeling good for one day? Now see that is a good thing as well as a bad thing. I know what a sad feeling it is. That is why I'm not brave enough to get another pet. But I sure do miss having them. Maybe it will cheer you up just to know I'm FARMGIRL OF THE MONTH. Now see that is an example of a person being self centered and selfish. I really hope that awful sad feeling goes away soon, but of course you will always miss him. I still miss my dog that I had for 17 years, and that was in 1960.
