Julie that is so great! My girls have a month to go before they start laying. I can't wait till I get my first pullet egg.

TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED......IT'S THAT SIMPLE!!!!!!

It is so exciting to get that "first egg". You feel like you have worked as hard as she as (especially if you buy your pullets when they are a day old). Congratulations! It never gets old to go out and get the eggs everyday. It is it's own wonder. My kids raise the hens and feed them everyday to sell the eggs. We had to start over because last year, Snoopy, our mastiff, found his way into the chicken house. He thought he would have fun "playing" with our girls and ended up killing 21 very good laying hens. We now have 15 pullets that should start laying any day now. We have been taking care of them since they were a day old. We pick them up and talk to them, we call them our "girls". We ended up with 1 rooster by accident, the kids named him "Checkers". It never gets old for the kids to go out and collect eggs. With the price of groceries these days, I am sure that they will sell pretty well.

Beautiful! Yay for Claudia!! Isn't it the best feeling? Although, I'm not sure about how the hens feel. Imagine going through labor and delivery every day!

Congrats, Julie! I am looking for some local chickens as I sit here typing. I want some chickens sooo bad. Of course, I get the 'how insane is she' look all of the time. Hope your other girlie's have eggs soon.
Take care! And best of luck with your chickens.
