I'm searching for folks interested in helping to promote the adoption of wild horses in the US...specifically here in the northwest. I'm in charge of planning a new event, in cooperation with the Oregon BLM, the Yearling Extravaganza and Adoption (YEA!), and am looking for others who may be able to lend a hand.

YEA will be partnering WA youth with a yearling mustang, giving them three months and then hosting a horse show where the kids can show off what they've done. At the end of the show they have the option of keeping their yearling or putting it up for adoption.

I'm needing folks who can help organize the event (helpful if you're in Western WA), promote, advertise and get sponsors for us. We'll need to rent a facility, buy ribbons and offer prizes, so if you're gifted in the art of soliciting donors, I need you

Send me some paperwork. I will email you. I can think of a few people here in Ohio that may be willing to help. It is a big horse area. (not mustang, but quarter's). I too, have loved wild horses since a wee sprout!

Marcy, don't discount your value regarding this endeavor! I'm in need of people who are enthusiastic and willing to contact potential sponsors. If you'd like to help in that respect, pm me and I can get you a list of companies to contact. I'm rather hoping for gift certificates from mail order/online supply places to give out. If you're up for it, I'd love to hear from you

Oh, Tracey, how I wish I lived closer! What a wonderful thing to do. Although I cannot be there to help, please know that I am thinking of you and I hope you get many volunteers!!
Take care and keep us posted! They are such beautiful animals and have been among my favorites since I was a little girl.
