Posted - Aug 29 2008 : 4:21:20 PM Goats can actually be pretty sensitive to inclement weather...I think it's great that they have their very own goat house. You could tell your husband that it is a goat "barn" if it makes him feel better! LOL

Posted - Aug 29 2008 : 2:49:28 PM Good for your goats - my goats believe they are something special and in my heart they are. My goats not only have homes of their own but I also provide fans, heaters, lights, individual pens for kidding season along with music. Yes, you heard me music. When we have too much stress do we not put on something soft and heart lifting? When I have bottle kids on the house in their room I have the same cd playing over and over - when they go out to the barn that same music plays - helps them feel right at home - less feeding issues, less stress reactions and I even become calmer.
Big goat hugs

Posted - Aug 29 2008 : 2:47:34 PM My goats are way spoiled too, they get all kinds of goodies, have a nice fenced in run with honeysuckle to nibble on, a warm barn at night, hay & sweet feed twice a day, & cookie treats, not to mention a bunch of graham crackers mixed w/molasses on Sat that I mix with their herbal wormer. They are my sweeties. |

Posted - Aug 29 2008 : 12:37:10 PM My hubby says, most peoples goats roam the pasture or be tied to a tire to eat up all their weeds, most people goats dont need a shade tree, they just figure it out. Most pople goats dont need a house...Most people goats dont get certain weeds to eat, grain for a snack and alphalpha hay to snack on until winter, so their tummys dont have to get used to new foods......I say, we dont have most peoples goats!
