Posted - Aug 25 2008 : 4:32:29 PM We've now added a very pregnant cow to our little farm. That makes 3 horses, 7 ewes + 4 market lambs, 19 egg-laying hens, and 5 dogs.
Thankfully Mom has decided she doesn't want a pig, or turkey, or ducks or any other kind of fowl.
I put pics on "Shari's Gone Country!" as well as at our gallery (get to that through the blog.

Posted - Aug 29 2008 : 09:53:54 AM This next week, I promise I'll work on the site so we can all see it in the best light.
We've decided to rent a small tractor and get things really cleaned up around here before going into winter, we we'll be outside all weekend. Saturday morning is Farmers' Market and Cindy and Bev both have to work Sunday morning. Other than that... it's move manure, scrape and shape our sand and tumbleweeds so we can adjust where the wind blows across the corrals.
I'll get "before and after" pictures.
As for Buttercup, she's romping around the little pen, eating frequently and could care less if we put our hands all over her. Sweetie Pie is just the best mother. We've been able to get into her pen and clean up the plops, but have made no effort to put our hands on her yet. She will come sniff my fingers through the fence.
The funniest thing to watch is how Sweetie Pie feels about the sheep on both sides of her, as well as our big black Lab dog. Woe unto those who get too close to the panels. She doesn't hesitate to charge the panel and rake her horns across them. The sheep and dog are such wimps, they can't get out the way fast enough. By that I mean, they trip all over themselves clearing the area.
