I got his book from the flea market, "Mary Ellen's Best of Helpful Hints", published in 1979. This is what it says about fleas on dogs:
*If you place some fresh pine needles in his doghouse or underneath his bed pad, fleas will flee;
*Or, salt the crevices of his dog house and wash him periodically with salt water, fleas will flee.

I think I'll try the salt option first.

Did you wash with salt water? I know salt worked wonders in the bathtub I wonder if bathing them in it would work?

I'm glad somebody caught that!!!!! LOL It was an old book, 1979, and there were suggestions on how to get rid of fleas. I just wanted to post it so y'all could know how they took care of fleas in 1979! LOL

Maybe that's why the book was at the flea market. I tried the salt thing around the dog house, it didn't work either. LOL

mmm... Our dog houses are under a pine tree. They have TONS of pine needles and also tons of fleas if we don't treat them every few weeks.
