Posted - Jul 12 2008 : 12:25:16 PMyesterday my hubby was cleaning the chicken box. the chicks kept going toward that back until they were in an area about 1' by 3 1/2'. when he got to that area he tried to shoo them to the front, instead all 46 of them (1 month old chicks)crammed into a corner about 1 ft square! after he gave up getting them out of the corner he spread fresh hay for bedding and some of it got up on the lower perch. one of the chicks reached up to get it when it fell on him! he ducked and ran like the sky was falling! it took over 30 minutes for just about half of the braver souls to come out of that corner and we have no clue how much longer it took for the rest to venture out. when they came out they were almost tiptoeing! it was so funny! the ones that we watched just loved it once they got over their fear lol. hope it is as sunny and beautiful in your parts of the world as it is ours! peace connie in alaska
