Hi Vickie and welcome to the Farm! Glad to hear that you are on high ground! It is amazing seeing the picures of the bridge over the river coming into Burlington. That is the way we go when visiting my family in Iowa. You live in a great part of the country, my uncle used to be a principal in Burlington, and I was born in Fairfield. My parents just moved back to that area after 20 years in the South. We have had a lot of flooding here in Indiana, but nothing like what you and your neighbors have had!

Glad you came!

Welcome Vickie and Karen !!!

so glad you joined the forum. I have been coming here for about 8 months or so. You will really enjoy all the ladies here.
I live on 46 hilly acres in southern, Ohio. I have Nubian dairy goats, down to 1 wool sheep and too many chickens to count. I have quite a few rescue cats and dogs. I also spin wool and knit some. Make cheeses and soap from the milk. Just not enough hours in the day to accomplish all the things I would like to do. Many of the ladies in here do so many different and cool things. Something interesting is always going on to read about. Lots of good support and help with questions. Hope to hear more from you both.

take care
Linda

Great welcomes from a former Iowan! I am in Arkansas now but was there in 93 for the 100 year flood...my family lives up there still and my daughter in Cedar Rapids....but they're okay. I lived in the country on an acreage for 20 years halfway between Cedar Rapids and Iowa City and loved it! I used to pass over the Mighty Mississip commuting between Il and IA when I first took my job there. It is beautiful country no matter where you are in this U.S.
I'm glad you are okay and joining our sisterhood! It is just awesome here and the people are so helpful and friendly! You will make many friends!
I'm coming up in July if things dry out a bit?

Welcome Vickie! This is a great place to belong. I just noticed your first post and wanted to say hi. I am usually on the crafting sites. Check us out sometime to see what we do in Stitching and Crafting.
I think you'll enjoy being a farmgirl sister.
I'd love to see some pics of your animals!
