Posted - May 26 2008 : 9:51:22 PM I found this picture from 4 years ago when we first moved here and I had my first milker within a couple months...the barn waas a disaster!
YOu can tell I love my goaties- this one was a brat! I loved her dearly though and have a daughter of hers- who is just as bratty! Same personality. That's why I keep her *U*

Posted - May 29 2008 : 08:40:36 AM ahhh...you are all so kind *U* I am grubby, and the goat is not so cute. She has crazy ears and I still loved her dearly. I get updates on her and her babies every year from the woman who has her in her herd now. I have a dughter of hers, named Ruby, and she looks and acts just like her! Funny how the personality was inherited.

Posted - May 29 2008 : 06:53:43 AM Love the photo. I love my goats too. Just have one now but had lots a few years ago. So sorry to hear what happened to your sweetie. Its tough to lose them like that-- you tend to forget they are prey animals and vulnerable and its not always possible to protect them. I ended up losing a young goat to my dog-- I was so upset because looking back I should of known the dog (little dog too!!) was harrassing the goat but it was not obvious since he did it when I wasn't around and I really thought he was too little to cause any harm. I think he just one day 'discovered' he could harrass this one- more so than the others and stressed her out. Still feel bad about it!

Posted - May 29 2008 : 04:49:41 AM Tracy, wild dogs came thru fence on our property and she actually got bit several times but she jumped off dry creek bed hill and broke her neck when she landed. She was my baby!! Miss her dearly!! |

Posted - May 28 2008 : 2:19:59 PM TWO Diva Queens!!! LOVE IT!!! I tend to keep the "Bratty" ones too. Don't know why. Guess I admire their SPUNK. Thanks for sharing Dalyn, it's a GREAT picture!
Susie, dare we ask WHAT HAPPENED to "Katie Lou?" You speak of her in the "past-tense." Just wondering.

Posted - May 27 2008 : 12:50:13 PM Too Sweet! I use to give my nubians big hugs! I had this one that I called "Katie Lou" who was a total sweetheart and I loved that goat. I would give her hugs all the time and she would love it! Her favorite snack was a gingerbread cookie. |
