After running one last test for tick borne diseases, I received a call from my vet today that Bagel does indeed have lymphoma. They have given him 1+2 months on prednisone. Very sad day indeed

What a sweet face, and how sad that he won't live out his expected lifetime with you, Kathy. How old is he? We can only hope that he will indeed have quality of life for the time he has left, and yes, love him up!

Bagel is still hanging in there. I really don't feel that the nodes are coming down much at all. This weekend the back of his knees seemed really bugged out. The nodes on the sides of his neck are very big. He wants so bad to play with the other dogs like he was used to doing but the pred makes him short of breath as the cancer does too so I have to keep him a little on the quiet side. I think he is wondering in his mind what is going on - I feel so bad for him that sometimes I just start crying and find it so hard to stop. I look at his innocent young and curious face and find it hard to believe that he will not live to be an old dog - it is just not fair and it makes me angry

Oh, Kathy, I am so very sorry. We just put our dog down last Friday after learning in January that she had bone cancer, so I know what you are going through. Love him up!

Kathy, I am so very sorry...like others, I was hoping for some silly fixable thing. Poor Bagle...but that sweetie doesn't appear to know, and I surely wouldn't let on. You must give him the love of all loves until you have to make the most loving choice for him.

Gotta go. Can't look at that sweet face any longer-breaks my heart.

Kathy,I am so sorry to hear that Bagel has lymphoma. I was hoping against hope that he didn't. It's just that I went through this with my doxie Barney just last summer and I knew too much to not guess it was lymphoma. I am just so sorry that your baby has to have this it breaks my heart to know you will lose him. I just enjoyed Barney as much as I possibly could. He had chemo so he lasted about 10 months. But, he did not have the full blown treatment. His was more for good quality of life and a bit more time. He did very well until the end then he went quickly. The predisone really helped, he took that before chemo started.I hope your time with Bagel is joyful and happy for all of you. If you need to talk I am here for you anytime. God Bless.
