Posted - Mar 12 2008 : 11:11:11 AM I just had to put down one of my oldest friends. Elric had bone marrow cancer of some kind. I am really sad, even though I suspected that he wasn't going to be ok when we took him to the vet so sick. He just kept losing weight, no matter what i did. Poor baby was so sick It's so hard to lose our fur babies

Posted - Mar 30 2008 : 11:31:26 AM For My Human Friend A door called death has closed between us for the moment. But could a little thing like that break the bond of love and understanding between us who have been so close? Of course not. Having left behind the body that no longer served me, I can be with you always and everywhere. On long, delicious walks, At quiet times and lively times. Alone, Among friends new and old. Let my excitement with life still brighten your days. As long as there is a place in your heart which is the shape of me, I will be with you. One day, you, too, will come through the door, and we will be together in glorious ways we have yet to understand. Alexandra Day

Posted - Mar 29 2008 : 6:01:15 PM I lost two of my cats 21 and 22 due to old age. I have so many wonderful memories of them. When I had my hysterectomy, the doctor told Steve to keep them away from me when I first came home from the hospital. He thought one might jump on the bed and land on my stomach. They cried, and cried and I finally told Steve to let them out of the kitchen.
They both ran to the bedroom and gently jumped onto the bed and came over to me and I had one on each side of me. They never hurt me and stayed close to me till they saw I was okay.

Posted - Mar 13 2008 : 1:36:44 PM Thank you girls for being so kind and sympathetic. El was my baby. I bottle fed him as an abandoned kitten, so this hit me pretty hard even though I knew he was old and wouldn't be with me forever. I have years of wonderful memories of him even though I'm still dealing with the loss of him. Thank you all very much for caring, what wonderful women you all are

Posted - Mar 12 2008 : 12:33:36 PM Poor kitty, it is always so hard to lose those sweet old catbabies. Wasn't he lucky to have all that time with you? We had a little kitty last year who turned out to have FIP, and he just got so weak,we had to have him put to sleep. It was so hard. These little beings capture our hearts, Karin

I am so sorry to hear that Elric didn't make it. I know you suspected this was going to be the result, but it is so hard to say goodbye to a companion of 14 years. I feel sad for you and your loss. I hope memories of him help to ease this time a little for you. I am thinking big hugs to you today! *hugs*
