Posted - Feb 24 2008 : 12:02:58 PM So.."Mr. Daffy" has been really aggravating lately. When we go into the yard he sometimes will charge us and bite. Now..I'm the only one that he doesn't try to attack..although he did begein to try it with me today..but I gave him a good tap on the end of his beak and a firm "no"! But poor Naomi...everytime, and I mean everytime she goes into the backyard he attacks her..and bites her hard..so hard that he has left quite a few blood blister bruises on her arms and ankles. And tries to fly up to continue biting her.Even if he is way across the yard and sees Naomi come into the yard he takes off runing across the yard to come charge at her. Now he has begun breeding with the female duck "Sunny" lately. She has not started laying eggs yet..but has started seeking out nesting sites in the yard.one being right next to our back door by the patio. So....my question is this...I know that he is most likely trying to protect a "nest"/his territory...but...does this aggressiveness subside? or does it just get worse ? Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? HELP!! As we do enjoy watching the ducks walk around our yard and all..and of course there is no way I'd toss him into the stew pot..although I have just about felt like it when I see what he does to Naomi's arms. But short of finding the pair a new home..what would you do/how would you handle this aggression? Thanks!
