Posted - Feb 21 2008 : 06:54:11 AM A little old Yorkie that my husband got called to pick up last Sunday. He was laying on the ground in the middle of a small green space behind a city lot. Shivering like a leaf in the wind. He may not see very well. So far, nobody has called the animal shelter looking for him. He couldn't even stand up when we brought him in. We found nice warm blankets to put in the cage under and over him and when we came back later to feed Angel, he was sleeping like a baby. He has been eating and drinking. Yesterday, a vet looked at him and said his leg isn't broken and he was standing a little yesterday. I can't get the poor old thing off my mind this morning. Or any morning since Sunday. I'm trying to call my dh to get him to advertise in the New Albany newspaper 'found' section. Please keep your fingers crossed that someone is looking for him. He's way too small and delicate to live with my herd of pit bulls, rottweiler and shepherd.
His people called the animal shelter late yesterday and are coming in today to pick him up! Ice storm or no ice storm, I'm having a good day today! Farmgirl Sister #50

Posted - Feb 22 2008 : 07:26:00 AM OH GOOD a happy ending. I don't usually read the posts about animals. I couldn't even watch Lassie when I was growing up. Grandma would spend the rest of the evening telling me that lassie was fine and back home with Timmy. NANCY JO

Posted - Feb 22 2008 : 06:47:39 AM Yes, he was much better yesterday, Alee. A vet who visits the shelter determined his leg isn't broken, and he was standing on it. He's been eating better, too. I told my dh to tell me how the reunion goes today. :)

Posted - Feb 21 2008 : 07:11:19 AM Poor little thing! Sounds like he just got lost--someone will look for him, and if they don't, Janice, you know there is a place for him--make his story heartfelt, and folks will be knocking down the door for him. Reminds me of the old wheaten terrier we found tied to the bridge in downtown Falmouth, on a day much like the one you mention. He was about 12, and matted and in terrible shape--he was just tied, waiting patiently for someone who would never return. A girl drove 3 hours south from up above Columbus, Ohio to come and get him. Didn't matter to her how old or how long she had with him, she loved him from first sight.
I'm wishing the same for this little one :)

Posted - Feb 21 2008 : 07:07:39 AM Aw...poor little guy. I sue hope someone claims him! Sounds like someone's special little pet. I know what you mean about the small and delicate thing...it would be hard to fit in a tiny dog like that HERE too. Let us know what happens with him!
