Posted - Jan 25 2008 : 07:12:47 AM My dog Bucky is suffering from degenerative disk disease, and he is having a myleogram today. If the results of that test are what the veterinarian anticipates, he will have corrective surgery today as well. He has a compression between his C6 and C7 vertebrae. Our veterinarian said this is common with short-legged, long-backed dogs, like corgis, basset hounds, and daushaunds. (My grandad used to call these dogs, "dog-and-a-half long and half-a-dog high." ) Bucky is a Pembroke corgi. His prognosis for a full recovery sound promising.
Has anyone had a "baby" who had a similar surgery? |

Posted - Jan 25 2008 : 11:34:49 AM I'm thinking of Bucky today, Jessie. Sounds like the prognosis is good, but we still worry about those bundles of fur, right?
Love to all.
