My dog Bucky is suffering from degenerative disk disease, and he is having a myleogram today. If the results of that test are what the veterinarian anticipates, he will have corrective surgery today as well. He has a compression between his C6 and C7 vertebrae. Our veterinarian said this is common with short-legged, long-backed dogs, like corgis, basset hounds, and daushaunds. (My grandad used to call these dogs, "dog-and-a-half long and half-a-dog high." ) Bucky is a Pembroke corgi. His prognosis for a full recovery sound promising.

Has anyone had a "baby" who had a similar surgery?

I'm thinking of Bucky today, Jessie. Sounds like the prognosis is good, but we still worry about those bundles of fur, right?

Love to all.

Jessie, don't forget to blue light bucky, especially now while he recovers. I've said it a million times. I've seen miracles happen!
