Posted - Jan 24 2008 : 7:16:03 PM I'm so pleased with my Spotted One. I got my App Club Saddle Log and have already some hours to put in it. Gigi is turing out to surprise me by showing me her hidden training...which didn't show up when I tried her out. Someone in the past has done a lot of good work with her but the in-between owner more or less bullied her (I think but not sure) and, being an App, rebelled and that is why he sold her for less than what he was asking. Just wanted her gone. So I took the chance but I'm not a mare person.
But what a pay-off! She is fabulous! I've never had a bad App but there were a few times I had some 'bad' thoughts about her but with some time and patience, she is shining thru.
Just had to brag!!

Posted - Jan 25 2008 : 6:25:19 PM Sometimes getting a new horse is like opening a Christmas present. You know, the kind that has one present nested inside of another, and another? Appys are great; they have tremendous character and a sense of justice. And they sure can think for themselves!
I'm glad you're enjoying your new girl! |

Posted - Jan 24 2008 : 8:50:46 PM Sorry, but are you referring to Appaloosa by App? Curious, since I had one when I was younger. We treated our's like a baby. She seemed very vain and would perform well only when she was pampered and weel, admired! The more we groomed, braided and fussed over her, the better tempered she was. The best horse we ever had.
I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by. ~anon |
