hubby is designing a chicken coop for henny penny and chicken little. Can't wait til the gals have their new home.
(also can't wait until they are out of my house/they come in in their cages in the evenings..but..they need an outdor pen and sooner rather than later..ha) Don't get me wrong..they are sweet little gals, but now they are getting their feathers all in and getting a wee bit bigger..they need to go outside.
No more barnyard house pets inside by my backdoor..ha.
The duck finally made it out, now the chicklets need their own house.

LOL yep..that's funny. We can't have dogs or cats inside..hubby is allergic..and when I got the critters it was cold..Nov.30th for the chicklets and the end of October for the duckling. And we have had freezing temps here..so yeah..I let them stay inside for a while. We've been putting the chicklets outside during the day..keeping an eye on them as they are still smallish..finally starting to get bigger than bantam size. The duckling stays outside all day now..she is nearly grown and the male duck Daffy has taken a shine to her and really has gotten very protective.
And since Sunny the girl duck had her cage next to the chicklets when they were inside..now..
when they are all outside together she tends to "mother" them and gives them soft pecks to "keep them in line" ..it's really rather funny to watch. She thinks they are hr "babies"..ha

That's funny, Tina. When I was a kid we had a duck and a chicken we raised in the house. They went outside when they got older, but it was funny anyway. My mom wouldn't even let us have a dog or cat in the house, but a duck and a hen were fine. Go figure!
