A wonderful new member has joined my family - a most lovely Irish Setter named Jillian - Jilly for short. Jilly arrived from the airport last night - she is an angel. This is my first Irish so if any of you girls have an Irish I would love to hear about your dogs. The reason I chose an Irish is that my favorite author, Gladys Taber led me to Cocker Spaniels and I adore all of mine so when I lost my beloved German Shepherd, I could not get another, too sad for me so I opted for an Irish. Here are some pics.

What a beauty she is, Kathy! It looks like she's settled right in at home with you! Congratulations and best wishes for many years of love. How old is she now and do you plan to breed her?

Thanks for all your well wishes - she is fast asleep now waiting for her daddy to get home - she has wrapped hubby around her little finger to be sure - at first he protested another dog, but that didn't last long- we fight over her at night now - hehehe she soon tires of that and goes to the bottom of the bed to sleep. In the morning she is up sometimes above our heads on the pillows.
Nancy Jo - I think this has me around 12 - but who is counting. Bless their little souls -

Kathy, how beautiful and sweet your new baby is! When she gets a little older, call me for a free reading. At this point she won't have much to say and few words, so we'll do it when she's a little older. Wishing you both a long and happy life together!

Oh, how beautiful and adorable!

I had an Irish Setter companion many years ago. Yikes, it was thirty years ago this past fall that I got her!!! She was gorgeous, large (70 pound), and quite the character. I have MANY Cheyenne stories, many humorous and some frustrating... She was only six months old when I got her but was already large. We traveled from Washington State to Maine together one fall. Many, many stories...

She was so beautiful and looked like someone had greased her coat, it was so shiney! I'll always remember her as beautiful, yet somewhat goofy.

Enjoy your new baby! Karin

What a stunner, Kathy! She is an absolute DOLL. There is an Irish in our neighborhood--Galen is his name. He's 5 and SO majestic--he carries his tail like a medievil banner!

Hello, sweet little Jilly! Kathy, you get the most beautiful dogs. I see she has already made herself at home. I bet it took two seconds for her to steal your heart. :)

She is just beautiful. My Dad has the sweetest Irish Setter named Cash and my daughter insists she is the owner- she calls and asks how her dog is doing, I WISH! He loves to play gently with the kids, just snuggles and is so careful not to knock the baby over. I NEVER let my kids near dogs and Cash could move in with them...is this a setter thing?

Welcome pup- Rebekka
