Posted - Dec 18 2007 : 4:49:19 PM So cute! We have a St. Bernard/German Shepherd mix and she looks almost exactly like your dogs. She is about 100 lbs. and just seems like "too much" when inside so she spends most of her time outside but maybe I need to let her in more often! If you can manage three huge dogs in a house I should do okay with one! -Elizabeth |

Posted - Dec 17 2007 : 06:10:39 AM Julie, they are too cute! Love how they all pile up while sleeping--out girls do that, but our two boys sleep way apart. Maybe too manly or something!
Farmgirl Sister #80, thanks to a very special farmgirl from the Bluegrass..."She was built like a watch, a study in balance ... with a neck and head so refined, like a drawing by DaVinci"... NY Newsday sportswriter Bill Nack describing filly, Ruffian. http://www.buyhandmade.org/ |

Posted - Dec 16 2007 : 1:24:38 PM Julie those mastiff's are so sweet. My SIL has one and he is huge. His name is Moose. He is a Brindle color. But, it is adorable face that melts my heart. He thinks he is a lap dog. But, let me tell you, you would need one HUGE lap!!

Posted - Dec 16 2007 : 12:32:59 PM My dd and significant other have a mastiff. He is massive (his name is Truck!), at least 175+ lbs and as docile as they come. He's a real baby...he has his own blankie! They brought him out to the farm this summer and he was fascinated by the chickens, "Hey, what are you guys?". But he was happy to just lay in the sun and watch them. "Sun" is the keyword with Truck...if it's raining or heaven forbid snowing, he becomes an immovable force that won't budge to go outside. He's just a hoot. I remember taking my firecracker, tiny dd at about 3 to a dog show one time. And being who she was, she wanted to pat the biggest dog she could find. After asking the owner if it was okay, she starting patting this mastiff who planted itself on her lap. The owner was mortified, but a pinned-to-the-floor Karlie couldn't stop laughing. Great memories. They really are a neat breed. Di |
