Posted - Dec 10 2007 : 5:32:28 PM ...did it again?
Actually, it was Darling who did it. And sold her dear, beloved Quiet Storm. She's been crying ever since, wishing she hadn't, but it's a done deal now.
Her new girl is named Firecracker; we adopted her while at the Kiger adoption in Burns, OR, last month. She's three, was bred but aborted last week.
We've had her home for about 3 1/2 weeks now. Gave her a week off with all our nasty weather and the abortion. Got back into the swing of things this weekend. She'll give to pressure and lead a little (paddock is a bit tight for much leading, really) and has recently allowed me to start touching her. I can rub up and down her neck from both sides and even worked down to her knees today. Didn't try to go any farther, I think she'd have let me but I wanted to stop while I was ahead

Posted - Dec 14 2007 : 9:21:58 PM LOL, Kay! I'll take it in a nice way, and you're right. I love taking them on, getting them started and then finding them the right match. We took on a boy just Weds, but already have someone coming to see him, so I won't be spending much time with him. He's so parasite laden it's heart breaking, though. Very thin, being eaten alive from the inside

Posted - Dec 11 2007 : 2:58:14 PM Thank you, ladies!
Alee, we were walking through the mall this weekend and she burst into tears and asked why she was so stupid. So hard being a mom when they're hurting so much. Quiet Storm in one of a kind and there's no replacing her. To tell the truth, I'm still crying, too. Hopefully this will work into a life lesson for Darling...perhaps she'll know not to let go of the perfect man later in life, eh?
Erica, I'm glad you enjoyed the photo blog!
