We lost our dear lab Daisy this morning. I took her to the vet last week and he told us that she had a mass the size of a football in her abdomen. We have been administering pain meds since then, because we wanted to let God be in charge of taking her. She was all curled up in her dog house and our other lab Baby was nuding her trying to get her to wake up.

A very sad morning for us.

Sherone,

Someone wrote about The Rainbow Bridge when I lost my Abby last summer. Hard to believe a year past so quickly. I still get sad and like to look at the mural of pictures we have on the wall now.

That pain in your chest will eventually go away. It hurts. The crying will come and go too.

So sorry. ((((Hugs and prayers from Central NC))))))

I'm so sorry for your loss. Our pets become such a true family member. Always so glad to see us and so loving. It takes some time to even start to get used to it. My warm thoughts and sympathy are with you.

so very sorry to read about Daisy. one thing you might want to do is let your kids plant a "daisy patch" of flowers in a special area of your yard to remember your precious pet.

The Rainbow Bridge story
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together

I hope you find comfort in these words...as we did when we had to say goodbye to our 17yr old Belgian Malanois, Nakita in April '06

So sorry for losing Daisy, leaves a big hole in our hearts. In September our Beautiful Duchess died, Elvira and the cats were all curled around her when I found her. I just want to smack people who call them dumb animals. Duchess was a rescue German Shepherd and was 15 and the most wonderful girl, so loving and eager to please. I sure miss her alot as I know you do Daisy. I just try to remember we gave them the best life we could.
Best to you, Barbara

Sherone,

I'm so sorry to hear about Daisy. It's very hard losing pets, like others have said they become part of your family. We lost two cats earlier this year and we miss them very much. You all and Baby are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs,
Lainey

Oh how sad. I just hate this. I'm so sorry for your loss--I sure do know how these animals can leave their mark on your soul. Thinking of you all at this time.

My yellow lab rescue is getting old and feeble and I know her days/months are numbered. As long as she has some quality of life left, I'm happy to have her with us. My sad thoughts with you. They become as important as our kids to us and it's so hard to lose them.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am just crazy about my dog, and dread the thought of ever losing him. But like everyone else has mentioned, at least she isn't in any pain right now. She will be waiting, faithfully, for you on the other side.

Oh how sad for you all. Poor Daisy----but just think of her romping through the grassy meadows now. She will be waiting for you across the Rainbow Bridge. MB

I am so sorry Sherone. It is so hard to lose a pet. But you didn't want her to suffer and now she is chasing squirrels in heaven.

May God bless those who love the soil,
