Just have to say I'm so thrilled with that new mustang of mine! I rode her again this afternoon...she's just an absolute dream! I hopped on her a couple times in August, then again once in Sept. This week I've ridden three times; twice out in the pasture and once out around the driveway, passing between cars and letting dogs run around our feet...well, her feet, not mine. Mine are in the stirrups

Here she is, barely able to contain her excitement when she sees me in the morning!

Git 'er broke....

I don't know, quite honestly. I'd considered giving reining a try, but wonder if she's a bit too sickle hocked to really deal with that kind of stress. Also considering some endurance riding, but looks like their rules don't allow for even the limited rides (25 miles) until the horse is 4. I guess that leaves a full year to train though, eh?

Right now we're just working on the basics such as starting and stopping and turning. I'm waiting for a new saddle pad to come in before I can really do much more as the saddle sits down on her withers; she's got a high, narrow wither right now but as she's only 2 that'll change (I hope!)
