The goats are so pretty,such sweet little faces. My daughter would love them, she has always wanted goats. Too bad her husband doesn't share her opinion! It's a funny thing about some dogs. When we had sheep, believe it or not we had big Black and Tan coon hounds. Those dogs would go with my Dad and actually round up the sheep! Go figure.

Well, these are boys but generally no, I don't think Angoras give much milk. They are too small, I think, and so much of their energy goes to making fiber.
I'm going to get one or two milkers - probably La Manchas or something that can handle our Texas sun. But not for a bit. I'm not ready to be tied down to daily milkings yet. No refrigerator either ! LOL!
The whole thing with the dog is weird. She chases the cats and torments the older dog, and totally destroyed stuff in our house - like a couch, an armchair, etc... and I mean TOTALLY DESTROYED them in the fullest sense of the word. They are completely stripped down to the frames. But when I took her to the farm, she behaves perfectly - she LOVES the goats. Now I'm not sure if it's because the goats didn't run or back down from her or if she just likes their poop... but she and the goats have this weird relationship. They actually miss each other when they aren't together, and Pretty would love to just live in the goat pen. She's not a proper livestock guardian dog, and we may have problems with her when we do get one, but she's a great watch dog and she's very protective of the goats. It may be a smell thing... I think she likes how they smell.

Those are sweet goats! Do they give milk along with the hair? Dog seems to be ok with them too. ;)

It's hard not to fall in love with Angora goats... They are really sweet and loving animals. My girls are even more adorable than the boys, even Dinah. She's my oldest goat at 8 years old. She's not as "friendly" as Ruthie, who is a cookie fiend, but she is so funny - she likes to make faces at me through the fence. I can't wait until I get the girls moved back over to the farm.

They ARE really cute and are starting to express their individual personalities - Laird is funny and friendly, Leander curious but starting to assert himself (translates as "pushy") and Lloyd is always hungry and very vocal about it! They have a love thing going on with the Siberian Husky and will cry when she leaves them. They also like to see how much they can get away with - i.e. pushing open the gate to get at the blackberry bushes outside their pen (since they have stripped the bushes inside their pen already.) Nevermind the HUGE roll of hay in their pen - they want blackberry leaves.
