Things have been busy in the Enchanted Wood for the past few weeks. My gorgeous chocolate cocker Oprah had 6 babies (I gave one up to foster care so there really are only 5) one is white with tan spots and the rest are parti's black and white.
Then lo and behold Doris Anne was pregnant and had her 4 babies (lost one of these ;() and has three, one parti black and white and the other two are black with a little white on chest area. They are all precious.
Oprah ended up in emergency hospital after she had the first three there was too long a wait in between and I did not have oxytocin to induce labor so we stayed at the hospital overnight with her while she got her shots and delivered the last three puppies.
It was hard to tell with her first xrays how many puppies she had so I had not to take any chances.
Doris showed all four of her puppies on her xrays so that was good.
Now my little Charlee is bred by my chocolate and red poodle for what I will imagine will be simply adorable and small cockapoo puppies due in the first week of November.
These cockers I have now will be ready to go around the end of October. Eyes are open on the first litter and they are bruisers, quite big and getting around very well, soon it will be pablum time for them.
I myself have not been feeling well for over a month now - had some bloodwork and need to have more done. Simply exhausted and spent a lot of time in bed flat out. Stress this summer was at a high with husband in the hospital and then litters of puppies due - it is a lot sometimes.
We are going to try to adopt an older 14 yr old girl from Florida through interstate dyfs adoption. Her name is Ashley and she wants to be a vet when she grows up. She would be in heaven here and I would have somoeone to share my love with.
Will post puppy pictures soon!

Kathy,
How exciting. I love cocker puppies. I had a black one for 14 years when I was growing up. Sounds like you are going to be a busy girl! Glad to see your post and know you are still out there.

Wow, Kathy!
So glad to hear from you again; we've missed you!
Congrats on all the puppies, and wishing you much good luck with the adoption process for your new daughter! Post pics of the pups when you can, and take good care of yourself, y'hear?

Pics required of Ashley, too, when you can! How long does that process take? Would she be with you by end of this year?
