Posted - Aug 30 2007 : 9:18:36 PM Yay! I get to go to Lure Coursing on Saturday!
Lure coursing is designed to test Sight Hound breeds. Basically you have an engine that pulls in a cord which is set to run around pulleys in a field. At the end of the cord is a fake "bunny" either a plastic bag or cloth or something like that.
They time how long it takes each dog to run the course, sometimes they run solo and sometimes they race another dog.
I have never watched the even myself but it should be interesting!

Posted - Sep 01 2007 : 8:31:27 PM Lure Coursing went great! Sky ran- but I don't think it was following the lure- I think she was just running to where I was at! LOL Silly dog. That's okay- it just wasn't her thing. I got sunburnt though so hopefully it will fade (and not peel) before the wedding!

Posted - Aug 31 2007 : 08:56:23 AM I am going to see if Sky will run-but I don't have huge expectations since she is more of herding breed stock. But ask Carol Sue- She likes to case bunnies!

Posted - Aug 31 2007 : 02:45:08 AM That sounds like fun to watch. I've never seen it in person but I have on T.V. We had someone come in for some after care for his dog due to an accident he had with the line. Apparently the dog cut himself on the the pad of his foot from the line. Sort of a rope burn. Is your dog participating or are you just going to be a spectator?
