Posted - Aug 07 2007 : 6:51:32 PM Whenh I introduced myself I mentioned a cranky bird. Well sadly today our cranky bird passed away. We are not sure why he was sitting in the bottom of the cage and breathing kind of hard well my daughter brought him to me he procceded to bite me one last time still being snippy to the end. He just started gasping and layed in my hands and soon there after he died. I sure cried alot along with my kids over this bird even if he did bite. I am wondering if he died due to his early years. He was very mistreated. He was kept in a small paraket cage and he was missing two toes and his plume was ragged and very sparse, and he was missing quite a few feathers in his wings and tail and the people yelled and screamed at him and let a little kid beat on his cage. We took him and he became beautiful again his plume was so full and large, his feathers were sleek and "shiny" he had a full long tail and his wings were full he had a much bigger cage and he loved to sit on my shoulder and play with my earings, lol. He also liked to watch tv and would squack if we were watching a movie and he could not see it so we moved him over by the tv so he could see. We did our best and boy are we sad today!!! Amy

Posted - Aug 08 2007 : 06:15:19 AM I'm deeply sorry, Amy. As the caretaker of another cranky bird, I know how they can wrap themselves around your heart. But you were a wonderful bird mom and he had lots of love and care.
