I am heartbroken tonight. After a sudden illness my beloved corgi, Maggie, was put down this morning. I can't believe she is gone...

Thank you to everyone for your kind words. You ladies on the RAOK list know that I refer to Miz Maggie as "the apple of my eye". She was very special to me personally, and also to our entire family. Life seems strange without her, and the house has been so quiet this week. And yes, I do think Corgis are a special breed

Heather I am so sorry for your loss also. I'm sure your week has been difficult too ((hug)). We all know this is part of life as a pet lover, but it is still so hard.

Tina, I have been looking at pictures for days. Lots of great memories.

Anyway, I so appreciate your kindness. I know how you farmgirls love your animal babies. Hugs to all.

Rhonda

oh Rhonda..am so very sorry to hear this. a big hug to you!
one thing that actually may be hard to do at first..but healing in it's own way..is to create a scrapbook with photos of yourself and family members with your corgi..and write a few things that you remember best about her. yes, you will cry while doing this..but it is very therapuetic too.I recommend this for any loss..be it a pet or a loved one. (I did this back when my grandmother passed away..and yes I cried buckets and it took me a while to create the album..but as I did..it helped me to come to peace and to heal inside...miss her still oh gracious yes..always will..but I have let my heart heal..and the creating something beautiful to remember her by was so helpful)

Oh, I'm so sorry, Rhonda. "Sudden" is always so terrible.

Still, I know what it's like to lose a beloved pet--if there is anything any of us can do, you name it.

I'm so very sorry. Like everyone has said, this is a terrible loss, these little guys are such a huge part of our lives. Many times they are our 4 legged children. Big hugs, Lu

That's very hard...especially when it happens so suddenly. I'm sorry.
