Our 14+ year old eldest pack member has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. We've had Majerle since she was 4 months old, over 14 years. It's been a stressful week that started with a Sunday night trip to the vet clinic. She's on medication now, but it takes a bit of time for the drugs to start working. Today has been my best day this week so far, as Majerle seems to finally be responding.

I've posted her photo and a more "gory" (ie read long) description of what happened on my blog.

Oh my goodness....what sweet babies you have! I read your blog and saw their pics. There aren't words we can say to explain how we feel about our four legged family members. Your blog still has me weeping.... but I am so thrilled she seems to be stable. I work at our local humane society and there is NEVER a day that I work that I don't shed a tear over at least one of those babies. How blessed your family and Majerle have been to have these 14 years together and hopefully lots more! Robin

I do hope she responds to her meds! If it's similar to humans, as long as they keep taking their meds, they should be pretty healthy--unfortunately, we all know we are only blessed with fur family members for a little while. I hope her life from now on is healthy and happy!

Thank you for the kind thoughts, we sure can use them!! Alee, Italian Greyhounds are a toy breed, and toy breeds tend to be prone to the type of CHF that Majerle has so it is not a major surprise.

Hi Maria-

I am so sorry to hear that your sweet little Majerle has CHF. Italian Greyhounds are prone for that aren't they? Your girls sure look sweet! I hope she continues to respond to the treatment!

Hugs!

Alee
