Posted - Jul 11 2007 : 7:31:53 PM Does anyone have Welsummer chickens? I am trying to find chicks to buy, but just about all the hatcherys are sold out.

Posted - Jul 12 2007 : 8:25:12 PM I have heard that Ideal is a good place for most birds. If you are looking for eggs to hatch, try the smaller hatcheries or the individual breeders. I was hoping to have some myself, but the rains we have had this spring have delayed construction on our farm and made it impossible for me to get my birds yet.

Posted - Jul 12 2007 : 6:05:10 PM Thanks again Erin. After checking and checking hatcherys online and calling to see if welsummer would still be available, I finally found Ideal and they will be hatching welsummers through august. I am going to check out the groups you mentioned as well.

Posted - Jul 12 2007 : 3:43:33 PM You may have luck finding some welsummer specific groups at Yahoo too. Just go to the Yahoo groups home page and enter Welsummer into the search line...
