DH and I added a 20x10 fenced-in area to the back side of the chicken coop this morning, rigged up a tarp over about 1/3 of it, and a few minutes ago I moved our 4 little Guineas (8 days old) to their new home. DD will be so glad to see this when she gets home. They were in a large metal tub in the basement & they chirped all night; with her bedroom down there, she was sleeping with earplugs in!

After lunch, dh will make a chicken door from the Guinea section into the chicken coop. We won't let the Guineas in there yet -- they're so small that the chickens & roosters would probably hurt them, but he wanted to get it done while he was on a roll. We're putting a large doghouse in the Guinea area (dh put a door on it) so they'll be closed up at night.

We'll probably use this section every time we get chicks or baby Guineas. We used dog pen panels but added chicken wire along the bottom, so this will be great for the little ones.

Some people search for happiness; others create it.
