Bessie Bender finally lambed. A ram (why not? That's all I seem to get!) But he's a real beauty, even with those floppy goat ears!

Thanks for all the sweet comments! Darling has named him Phantom Of The Opera; Phantom for short. That mask stretches all the way across his face.

Bessie is a very attentive mamma and has plenty of milk. I've begun milking her once a day as she's got too much for just one lamb, and I don't want her production to slow down because of it. I got 6 oz the first day, 12 oz yesterday. I'm hoping to build up to a pound by the end of his first week. I'm not sure how this compares to other sheep at this point in lactation; obviously she's giving more than this because she's nursing her lamb as well, which leads me to believe it's a pretty decent volume.
