Posted - Jun 10 2007 : 12:45:04 PM In between making bread, doing laundry and a gazillion other things, I thought I'd sit down with James Beard's American Cookery and decide how to make some round steaks. When I came back in to the living room, Jack had already decided on what to make. Mouse a l'orange

Posted - Jun 12 2007 : 06:29:55 AM Could be, Amie. He's always around..not "in my space", just near. I think observing is a great way to describe it!
My other two are "in your space" kindof cats. You can't read a paper without one of them lying down in the middle of it, or simply sitting on you as soon as YOU sit down. Jack Sprat just wants to be a part of your aura :)

Posted - Jun 11 2007 : 1:13:27 PM Hey, my cat is a bobtail too! And he likes to be close by watching whenever we are doing anything...a friend describes him as a "trained observer". I wonder if it is something in the bobtail genes? |

Posted - Jun 11 2007 : 12:11:10 PM Thanks, girls! I do so love him...he has two other (unrelated) siblings (orange, and a long haired grey) but he's always the most expressive and he really likes to be near me, so he's frequently a subject of my camera.
I'll take a photo sometime of him lying in the floor on his back with all fours up in the air and his tubby belly sticking up. He looks like...well, I have no idea, just Jack Sprat, I guess....he can sleep like that for hours, though!

Posted - Jun 11 2007 : 11:48:17 AM He is handsome isn't he?!!!?
My stray girl in the yard had a new litter.. one of them has half a mustache.. I've named him Frank.. was Francois.. but .. I've shortened it.. tried to invision talking my husband Butch into letting Francois hang around.. & Frank just rolled off that West Virginia tongue of his a bit easier in my dream then Francois did.. I do picture Frank becoming quite the handsome boy .. Can't imagine he'll ever be as striking as Your Jack Sprat though!

Posted - Jun 10 2007 : 3:39:57 PM Thanks--his stripe down his leg actually "connects" to the other leg when he's standing straight on. It's a great little pattern. I think, though, Jack Sprat is just a cat. He's a bobtail, but whenever we go to the vet, he's listed as domestic shorthair, so, yeah, I think he's just "cat".
He's my boy-o though. Really full of IT!

Posted - Jun 10 2007 : 1:42:53 PM I love your kitty cat! He is adorable! That stripe on his leg- I just love it! What type of cat is he? A special breed or just a "normal" cat?
