Posted - May 28 2007 : 11:06:42 PM Hey gurlz! I just wanted to tell of my new critter I got last week. His name is Shadow and he is a Blue Russian Cat. He is one years old and we adopted him from a local animal shelter. I love him already! We had him fixed already too, so no worries there. When we brought him home from the vets after his surgery I wanted to give him a good cleaning. So my sweet husband took him in the shower with him, LOL! Funny isnt it!? Well shadow liked the shower and sat quietly while my husband bathed him. Then when he was done I wrapped him all in a towel. I decided I would see how he would do with the blow dryer. The crazy cat loved it! I blow dried him for an hour as he layed there taking it all in. So I am guessing whoever had this cat must have spent alot of time with him or something. I was amazed! Do you remember when I told you of adopting Willy last year? Well we still have him, but he is our garage cat, and we made Shadow the house cat. They met the other day and it wasn't so good. So we decided they won't meet again. Right now Shadow is snoozing in bed with me. He has found himself right at home.

Posted - May 29 2007 : 08:36:56 AM We had a Russian blue when I was growing up. She had been thrown out the back of a truck and then had a litter of kittens soon afterwards. She broke on of her front legs when they threw her out of the truck and it didn't get set so she always had a crooked leg. My parents happened to see her and the kittens at a restraunt in the mountains and asked who they belonged to. When they were told what happened, they adopted the whole family and brought them home. Her name was Topaz and she lived to be 21 yrs old before her kidneys failed. It was so heart breaking when she died, but she was the best cat!

Posted - May 28 2007 : 11:15:36 PM He is not huge right now since he is only one. But he is so sweet, and has the sweetest little meow. A totally different meow than I have ever heard on any cat. They say that the russians have a sweet "voice" and it is true. Also, I found that he likes to have fresh water, he doesnt like to drink it from his bowl. I started a habit, he likes it coming out of the faucet and now will wait by the bathroom sink for me to turn it on. Rotten I say, ROTTEN!
