June 2-3, in Monroe WA. This is the only WA adoption event this year!

Check out some of the horses that will be there...

Of course, I'll be there, too! Darling and I will have Quiet Storm there (if everything goes according to plan) and we'd love to meet anyone who's in the area

I love it! 'Tina Turner' i bet she moves just like her too!

We bought one several years ago from a grined that was involved in the rescue.. he had several at his place here in Florida.. & walked out one morning & SURPRISE!! The mare had kept a nice secret from everyone.. but with gaining weight & getting so nice & pretty from their care.. that's what they thought it was.. not that she was carring a secret baby!!!
i bought the baby.. Kept her middle name Secret.. but we called her Shelby.. She was the prettiest baby.. & as she grew she went from a dark greyish Roan to lighter roan.. & she seemed to change in different seasons.. there were times when she was younger that i could say she was even a Red Roan.. she turned into the prettiest little mare.. such a great personality! by the time she was 6 or so she seemed to stay a nice pretty Grey Roan & as she got older she had dapple's on her too.. She was such a pretty girl.. She gave me two fun babies.. the 1st was little filly, a Blue Roan I named her Cozy.. from Shelby & our Quarter Horse Paul.. & the 2nd was a little paint baby boy.. he was the funniest little guy.. I think he came out jumping fences! We named him Moon.. after his Daddy..
I gave Shelby to a friend of ours with a Cattle Ranch just about 4 years ago.. So he has a companion for his horse.. Shelby should be about 13 or 14 now I think.. & cozy went with one of my old geldings to another friends place when we 'closed up shop'..
So,now that I'm feeling & doing pretty well.. We will be looking over the next couple of years to see what's out there for us.. But in my experience.. I love all horses. But there's just something about a Mustang that will catch my eye everytime!!!

Thanks Again Tracey!

Alee and Michele, there was one last year (and the year before) in Spokane during Ride the West. I was there; in fact, that's where we found Quiet Storm. This year, Monroe is the only WA adoption event.

Come November there will be another in Oregon (Burns) which is when they'll have Kigers and others available. I'm thinking of renting a car and heading down. If anyone wants to ride along, let me know! We can meet up in Ellensburg and go down through Pendleton.

Kathie and Winona, I'll be expecting you And Kath, you're quite right about folks who can't see past the shaggy coats. Here are two of Quiet Storm's recent photos:

Darling and I are putting scrapbooks together with before and after shots of both the horses. We're pretty sure people who were in Monroe last year will remember Quiet Storm (we adopted her in Spokane, but picked her up at the Monroe adoption.) She was quite popular due to her blond tips! Someone called her Tina Turner, lol!

I love the chesnut one in the upper right hand corner, although I must say I am a sucker for Straight Egyptian Arabians, but any great horse would be wonderful!

Any wild horse adoptions going on in Eastern WA or Northern Idaho?

Aren't they amazing!!! Tracey they are magnificent!
I think posting the picture is a terrific idea.. I don't think the image people have in their minds of what a wild horse is going to look like is anything like those beauties!! ( i wish half the horses people had tried to bring by my barn to sell to me looked half as nice as these!!)
Thanks for showing them!
Ok Winona The chrome ones are awesome.. you can have one of them..I want that buckskin! When do we leave?

Thanks Tracey. I've always been interested in adopting mustangs, and have done some research into it over the years. I do enjoy the photos. There are some with nice heads, and the appys are interesting to see too. It was interesting to read that volunteers have been working with them, that should get people's interest up, I would hope. We're not set up for horses, yet, but I do enjoy learning more about what is going on. Thanks.

We make a difference.
